Anduze is a commune in the Gard department in southern France. The village is at the foot of the Cevennes range, in the plateau of the Languedoc scrublands. The vessels Anduze, known since the 17th century throughout Provence, were originally inspired by antique Florentine terracotta vases. Traditionally Anduze planter pottery is decorated with garlands and macaroons. Contemporary potters and artists who create Anduze urns may be creative yet still respect the authenticity and tradition of the famous vessel Anduze.
