Viburnum awabuki ‘Chindo’
Viburnum awabuki ‘Chindo’ Evergreen Shrub 12′. The showy, very fragrant flowers in spring are attractive to butterflies and pollinators. ‘Chindo’ is a good choice for privacy screens and hedges due to its upright, dense form. Foliage is a glossy green with a red tint on new growth which remains evergreen in winter. ‘Chindo’ is drought tolerant once established and produces blue black berries in the fall. The berries will attract songbirds to your landscape.

In early spring glossy, dark red flower buds are ornamental for several weeks before opening to white flowers. ‘Mohawk’ has strong, spicy, clove like fragrance which will perfume the air around it. The glossy deep green foliage is attractive during the summer and in fall, foliage on Viburnum × burkwoodii ‘ ‘Mohawk’ turns a bright orange red. Black berries appear in autumn. Deer resistant.
Viburnum macrocephalum – Chinese Snowball

In late spring Chinese Snowball viburnum bears large flowers in clusters which begin as a chartreuse color and then change to pure white. Leaves are dark green. A real head turner when blooming! Also called possumhaw viburnum or smooth witherod. ‘Brandywine’ is a more compact Viburnum nudum cultivar suitable for small space gardens. Flat topped flower clusters in spring are followed by colorful berries in autumn. The fruits ripen in shades of pink and blue, both colors may be found in the same cluster. Viburnum nudum ‘Brandywine’ has fall colors of deep red to maroon.
Viburnum Nudum ‘Winterhur’
Native. Viburnum nudum ‘Winterhur’ deciduous shrub 6′ – 12′. Wildlife and bird garden plant. Also called possumhaw viburnum or smooth witherod. A rounded, multi stemmed, upright spreading shrub well suited for our Georgia climate. ‘Winterhur’ displays white, flat topped clusters of flowers in spring and glossy deep green leaves in summer. During the fall the plant puts forth clusters of berries which change color as they ripen, going from pink to deep pink to blue to purple black. The berries are readily eaten by birds. In autumn the fall color on ‘Winterhur’ is deep reds to purples.

The spring blooms are quite showy in white popcorn like clusters. Fall color on Viburnum plicatum ‘Popcorn’ can be reds mixed with deep green.
