Rabbiteye Blueberry Plants

Rabbiteye Blueberry Plants

Vaccinium ashei Rabbiteye Blueberry bushes. 'Premier', 'Powderblue', 'Austin, 'Brightwell'. Rabbiteye Blueberries need little effort and maintenance to thrive well in a home landscape. A native plant to the southeast, Vaccinium ashei is well adapted to our Georgia hot, humid summers and mild winters.  Once planted they will produce edible berries for years to come. Blueberries can be a perfect landscape shrub. They are easy to grow, are lovely when in flower and have attractive bright green foliage in summer. To top it off Rabbiteye has great foliage color in the fall making it a plant with multi season interest. And the edible berries taste great! Rabbiteye blueberry is a plant which benefits from cross pollination and will produce more berry crops when at least two varieties are planted near each other. Rabbiteye blueberry is a non-climacteric fruit which needs to ripen on the bush. Wait until the berries are fully ripe before you pick them or the fruit will be bitter.

Pink Lemonade Blueberry

Blueberry Bush 'Pink Lemonade'

Vaccinium ashei x Blueberry  'Pink Lemonade'. The perfect all around landscape plant, in spring, 'Pink Lemonade' produces pretty pink white flowers, unique hot pink berries during the summer months and then attractive orange red leaves during fall. The fruit is just like a regular blueberry . . . except pink! This is an amazing new blueberry with honest to goodness PINK blueberries! They are a cross between Rabbiteye blueberries and Highbush blueberries. While 'Pink Lemonade' doesn't have to have a cross pollinator, berry production is notably higher when other Rabbiteye cultivars are planted in the vicinity. And with all of the positive health benefits of blueberries, and the 'salad enhancing' potential of these pink berries, these 'Pink Lemonade' bushes are nothing but a fun investment for the future! They are a fun plant for a kid's garden or when planted in mass in a border or as foundation shrubs.
