‘Kaleidoscope’ Abelia

Abelia x grandiflora ‘Kaleidoscope’ 3′ – 4′. A very colorful, compact ornamental shrub to add color to a landscape. Leaves are a variegated yellow and green which can turn red and deep orange during the fall. In summer ‘Kaleidoscope’ has small white flowers which will attract butterflies to a garden. Drought tolerant and easy to grow, ‘Kaleidoscope’ is relatively pest free and requires little maintenance. Prune out older branches in spring to encourage new growth. With its compact, rounded form ‘Kaleidoscope’ is perfect for containers, as a formal or informal hedge to line borders or paths, or in a small spaced garden as an accent plant.

‘Mardi Gras’ Abelia

Abelia x ‘Mardi Gras’ 2′ – 3′. Variegated white and green leaves tinged with pink create a splash of color in a Georgia garden. Fragrant flowers are white with a light pink tint in early summer and can attract butterflies. ‘Mardi Gras’ is a compact ornamental shrub which may be used to add a dramatic touch to a container, planted in mass or as a low hedge or border. Its compact size make it great for small space landscapes. ‘Mardi Gras’ can grow 3′ -4′ wide so may be used in mass plantings, as a container plant or as a tall ground cover.

‘Rose Creek’ Abelia

Abelia x grandiflora ‘Rose Creek’ 2′ – 3′. With dark green leaves, dramatic red stems and lightly fragrant white flowers in summer, ‘Rose Creek’ is a dense, compact shrub which is excellent as a low hedge, a container plant or mass plantings. The stems of ‘Rose Creek’ have a rose red tint which creates an interesting contrast with the green foliage. The evergreen leaves will take on a lovely purplish tint during the winter. Low maintenance an tolerant of our summer sun, prune old branches in early spring. ‘Rose Creek’ may grow 3′ – 4′ wide so may be used in mass plantings along banks as a tall ground cover.
