New arrivals in our landscape plant nursery for April. These are just in!  And we are now offering PERENNIALS!!!

Please feel free to peruse former month listings as we still carry most of those items as well . . . but do not necessarily list them each month throughout a season.

 

Shrubs and Bushes:

Barberry ‘Rose Glow’ - The purple foliage on this shrub is highlighted with the pink variegation of the new growth!  Lovely to say the least. Rose Glow photo
Barberry ‘Aurea’ - The yellow foliage on this shrub is the perfect compliment for ‘Rose Glow’ Barberry.

Ficus carica ‘Celeste’ - A cold hardy fig with sweet fruit!

Hypericum frondosum, St. John's Wort 'Sunburst' - Deciduous, drought tolerant. Dusty blue green foliage, large golden yellow flowers.
Hydrangea quercifolia - It is an injustice to a southern yard with shade to not have an Oakleaf Hydrangea!  Amazing blooms and wonderful fall foliage make this a must! Oakleaf Hydrangea photo
Hydrangea ‘Unique’ - Another lovely hydrangea tolerating a touch more sunlight with beautiful blooms.
Ilex glabra - Inkberry Holly is a shade tolerant native, great for wildlife and birds. Black berries. A fantastic native!
Loropetalum 'Ruby' - purple evergreen foliage with hot pink flowers in March;  one of the best cultivars for maintaining a thick form.
Spiraea japonica ‘Goldmound’ - Beautiful yellow foliage with pink flowers in May. Goldmound Spiraea photo
Vaccinium ashei ‘Rabbiteye’ - Rabbiteye Blueberries; in our experiences this has proven to be the best blueberry for our zone.  Varieties include Premier, Tifblue, Powderblue, and the newly released Vernon.
Viburnum plicatum f. tomentosum, 'Shasta' - Doublefile viburnum. Gorgeous!  Lovely white flowers rivaling dogwoods for beauty; perfect for hard to fill shady areas!!!

 

Azaleas:

'Coral Bells' - hot pink blooms.
'George Tabor' - large evergreen azalea with pink and white blooms.
'GG Gerbing' - large evergreen azalea with white blooms.
Gumpo Pink - low growing with pink blooms in May.
Gumpo White - low growing with white blooms in May.
'Hershey Red' - great red blooms.
'Mildred' - purple blooms.
Formosa - large evergreen azalea with profuse fuschia blooms.

 

Groundcover:

Juniperus conferta 'Blue Pacific' - Evergreen ground cover.
Juniperus chinensis 'Gold Lace' - Vibrant yellow growth forming layers up to 3 feet.

 

Trees:

Cercis canadensis ‘Forest Pansy’ - Purple new growth makes this native Eastern Redbud a real looker! Forest Pansy photo
Cercis canadensis ‘The Rising Sun’ - This new release is almost certain to be the most sought after tree in the United States within the next five years!  Extremely hard to find and stunning to see!  Check out the pictures on our FB page and you will want one! Rising Sun photo
Cornus florida ‘Rubra’ - Dogwood Pink flowers . . . enough said. Ruba Dogwood photo
Cornus sericea ‘Cardinal’ - this red twig dogwood produces a fine winter display!
Norway Spruce ‘Pendula’ - A true collectors plant perfect for a specimen location.  The spruce with the best survivability in our zone. Norway Spruce Pendula
Salix ‘Hakuro Nishiki’ - this dappled and dwarf willow is delightful!  White spring foliage is highlighted with light pink!  A conversation piece for sure!

 

Japanese Maples:

‘Bloodgood’ - this upright palmatum produces deep purple leaves that handle the heat in our zone quite nicely.
‘Orangeola’ - this weeping dissectum is one of our favorites!  Not well known but deserving more attention . . . it has displayed outstanding heat tolerance and is a strong weeping form with orange red growth.
‘Viridis’ - another weeping dissectum with green foliage.  Heat tolerant and beautiful golden fall foliage.  Every yard deserves one of these.
