Fieldtrips

THE KINSEY FAMILY FARM WELCOMES YOU!

COME EXPERIENCE FARM LIFE THROUGH THE JOY OF YOUR CHILDREN

Field trips on the farm occur mornings Monday through Friday throughout October.  Activities are designed for children in preschool through second grade and are centered around three activities.

  1. Listen and participate in stories about pumpkins and Christmas trees and how they help our environment.

  1. Take an exploratory nature walk through the trees.  As you walk you will likely see many insects that call our plantation home.  Learn first hand the work involved with tree farming as your class plants their own tree.

  1. Enjoy a scenic wagon ride around the farm and through the trees with a stop by the ponds to feed the fish.

Each activity typically lasts around 30 minutes and will accommodate 25 to 30 students per group.  Picnic tables and grassy areas for lunch and a small field for games are available for those who would like to stay after the organized activities.

Each child will receive a coloring book about Christmas tree farming and each class will receive a large carving pumpkin to take back to their school room.

Admission is $5 per child.  Teachers and teachers aids are free.  For more information or to make your reservation please call Liz at 770-887-5541.  We look forward to seeing you!
